Sapio's business is optimally positioned in a high-growth market where regulators and customers are emphasizing data quality, data access, compliance, and taking advantage of the latest advancements in AI, making it easier for scientists, lab and informatics professionals to accelerate novel science.

Summary

Our US Sales team is currently seeking a Business Development Director to look after our accounts and drive new growth in the Southeast, US. You will join a rapidly growing team, that builds on our recent customer wins. As an experienced sales leader you will be confident in consultatively selling software solutions into the Life Sciences market. Ideally, you will have deep knowledge of LIMS, ELN and SDMS products and their application within the laboratory setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Win new Southeast Life Sciences customer accounts
  • Work closely with our Customer Success team to grow existing customer base revenues
  • Work closely with Marketing and Inside sales to build out the opportunity & sales pipeline
  • Be able to clearly and concisely communicate the Sapio Sciences value proposition
  • Build strong relationships and maintain on-going communication with prospects and customers
  • Become the trusted partner of our customers, and the voice of the customer internally
  • Understand each customer’s goals and challenges and be able to reflect them back into the organization to ensure we deliver a successful solution and outcome for all
  • Meticulously qualify deals and efficiently drive the sales cycle forward
  • Maintain effective plans, pipeline and forecasts within Sapio CRM
  • Manage the creation of proposals, quotations and other necessary documentation to close a sale

Essential Experience

  • Several years’ of Life Sciences experience, preferably introducing new IT solutions
  • A contact list of relevant existing Life Science relationships
  • Previous experience with either LIMS or ELN software
  • Comfortable presenting the company to C-level executives
  • Proven business development credentials with relationship and solution selling experience
  • Experience in quickly identifying client needs and intelligently positioning solutions to address them, leveraging team members to support you


Additional Requirements

  • A BS/BA degree or equivalent; MBA preferred, but not required
  • Excellent listening and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel, potentially 40% of the time
  • Demonstrated success working responsibly and effectively from a home office
  • Effective time management, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent computer skills ( Excel, PowerPoint, Word, CRM Programs)
