The opportunity

TechnologyAdvice recently acquired an agency called Avani Media. As a newly added "Agency" division of TechnologyAdvice, Avani Media specializes in digital advertising, marketing, and lead generation for B2B tech companies. Our mission is to drive revenue growth for our clients through innovative and data-driven strategies. We provide comprehensive agency services to TechnologyAdvice and its clients, working with a diverse portfolio that ranges from emerging startups to established industry leaders in the technology sector. As an integral part of TechnologyAdvice, we are committed to fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment where every team member can thrive.

The Director of Business Development will lead our selling motion, help with our go-to-market (GTM) strategy, and acquire and grow clients globally, including in North America, EMEA, and APAC. This individual will play a key role in generating new revenue, expanding existing accounts, ensuring rep accountability, and leading activities including hiring, coaching, and managing team performance to goals.

What you'll do

  • Build and lead a high-performance sales management team.
  • Hire and develop leaders in Strategic Sales, Mid Market Sales, and Revenue Operations.
  • Foster a positive team culture, ensuring high employee engagement and alignment with core values.
  • Act as a 'player-coach,' leading sales efforts while building the team.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue goals.
  • Drive the sales team to achieve individual and overall targets.
  • Regularly track and report sales metrics to leadership.
  • Spearhead new business strategies and initiatives.
  • Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Partner with clients to explore and implement media tactics.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery and identifying expansion opportunities.
  • Work with the President, Board of Directors, and senior leaders on strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects to drive company growth.
  • Leverage your network and industry relationships for business development.
  • Identify and capture new business opportunities.

Who you are

  • Proven success in leadership within the B2B marketing or advertising industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years selling agency services.
  • Experience working with small, growing, and large agencies.
  • Strong strategic mindset and ability to implement long-term goals.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to identify and capture new business opportunities.
  • Self-motivated with a strong ability to set and achieve goals.
  • Proven experience leading a high-performance sales team.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and persuasion skills.
  • Proficient in performance management and conflict resolution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of sales strategies, CRM systems, and sales enablement tools.
  • Agile professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and thrives on continuously pivoting strategies to drive business needs forward.

Salary Range

We seek to hire top-tier individuals and intend for our compensation to be at a rate that allows us to recruit and retain individuals who align with our core values, purpose, mission, and vision. Final total compensation is based on a multitude of factors including, but not limited to, skill level, relevant experience to the position, and cost of labor.

Base pay range represents 50-60% of total OTE, with remaining OTE based on earned commission.
