Head of Engineering
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for our global engineering team, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the founders and product team to define, plan, and execute product development roadmaps.
- Foster a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation within the engineering team.
- Manage and mentor a team of remote engineers, promoting collaboration, professional growth, and work-life balance.
- Drive engineering best practices, including iterative improvement of features and processes, code quality, testing, and performance optimization.
- Be hands-on with the codebase, performing code reviews and contributing to the development of key features and architectural improvements.
- Partner with the founders to recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization, providing regular updates on project progress and technical direction.
- 10 years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong technical expertise in web application development, preferably with experience in our technology stack (Ruby, Rails, Typescript, React, Google Cloud).
- Experience managing remote, globally distributed teams.
- Demonstrated ability to balance technical excellence with pragmatic decision-making.
- Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies and experience implementing them in engineering teams.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse teams.
