What you will do:

As the Infrastructure Administrator for a restaurant company, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of technology systems within the corporate and restaurant environments. Your responsibilities will span across various areas, including Azure cloud services, Microsoft 365, security, policy enforcement, disaster recovery, client devices, asset management, enhanced security measures, and corporate business applications.


Essential Functions:

Azure Management

  • Deploy and Maintain Azure Resources: Set up and manage Azure virtual machines, databases, storage accounts, and networking components. Monitor and Optimize Azure Services: Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource utilization. Implement Security Best Practices: Configure security groups, firewalls, and access controls within Azure.

Microsoft 365 Administration

  • User Management: Create and manage user accounts, licenses, and permissions in Microsoft 365 (including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams). Collaboration Tools: Ensure effective use of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools for restaurant staff. Data Governance: Implement retention policies, data loss prevention (DLP), and compliance features.

Intune and Device Management

  • Hardware Inventory: Maintain an inventory of restaurant devices (computers, tablets, printers, etc.). Device Enrollment: Enroll and manage restaurant devices (such as tablets, POS systems, and mobile phones) using Microsoft Intune. Application Deployment: Deploy and update restaurant-specific apps on client devices. Software Updates: Manage software updates and patches for client devices. Security Policies: Configure Intune policies for device security, app management, and conditional access. Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for restaurant staff regarding device issues.

Security and Compliance

  • Windows Defender Configuration: Set up and manage Windows Defender Antivirus for restaurant workstations. Security Awareness Training: Educate restaurant staff on security best practices. Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS) and internal policies. Azure Security Center: Leverage Azure Security Center to monitor and enhance security posture. Implement recommendations for secure configurations, threat detection, and vulnerability assessment.

Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

  • Sensitive Data Identification: Identify and classify sensitive data within Azure resources (such as databases, storage accounts, and Azure AD). DLP Policies: Create and enforce DLP policies to prevent accidental or intentional data leaks. For example, prevent credit card numbers from being shared via email or stored in insecure locations. Monitoring and Alerts: Set up alerts for DLP violations and investigate incidents promptly.

Disaster Recovery (DR)

  • Backup and Restore: Implement regular backups of critical systems (e.g., point-of-sale systems, inventory databases). DR Planning: Develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan, including failover procedures.

Asset Management

  • Procurement and Lifecycle Management: Coordinate the purchase, deployment, and retirement of IT assets. License Tracking: Keep track of software licenses and ensure compliance. Vendor Relationships: Work with vendors for hardware and software procurement.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years’ experience and relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate).
  • Self-Starter, Minimal Supervision, Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Restaurant Hospitality Experience preferred
  • Meraki Network Administration experience is a plus


Working Conditions:

  • Position may require talking, hearing, kneeling, walking, crouching, crawling, grasping, pushing, lifting, sedentary work and visual acuity.
  • After hour and weekend shifts are required
