Responsibilities

This role is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy and programs that enhance employee performance, enhance leadership capability, and ensure effective talent data is captured to inform talent solutions (including performance, succession, listening, etc.). The director will collaborate with the HR Business Partners, HR leadership and Spirit leadership to align talent strategies with organizational goals, driving high performance and career mobility across the organization. This position requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record in human resources, particularly in talent management, and a passion for developing people to achieve their full potential within the airline industry.

  • Collaborate with HR Leadership, Business Leaders, and HRBPs, to identify talent needs and define critical roles to the airline's success.
  • Deliver and sustain a holistic leadership development program to cultivate high-potential Team Members, develop and maintain a strong talent bench and succession pipeline.
  • Improve and advance Spirit’s performance management program, continuing to drive on-going feedback, alignment of individual goals with organizational objectives, and driving accountability.
  • Leverage data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement as it relates to talent gaps and Team Member experience, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Advance Talent Review, Talent Mapping & Succession Planning to ensure a pipeline of talent for key positions within the organization.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify critical roles and develop talent assessments for potential successors.
  • Advance Spirit’s everyday listening strategy, developing and recommending employee engagement initiatives to enhance Team Member experience, retention, and organizational commitment.
  • Oversee Spirits New Hire Immersion and Onboarding programs
  • Oversee the design and delivery of training programs that address skills gaps and promote professional development across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of developing and executing talent management strategies that drive organizational success.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Talent Management Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of talent management frameworks, including performance management, and succession planning.
  • Leadership Development: Experience in designing and implementing effective leadership development programs.
  • Organizational Development: Proficiency in assessing organizational needs and enhancing overall effectiveness and employee engagement.
  • Learning and Development: Ability to create and deliver targeted training programs to foster continuous professional growth.
  • Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills for interpreting HR metrics and performance data to drive decision-making.
  • Change Management: Experience leading change initiatives and managing associated cultural shifts within organizations.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align talent management strategies with business goals and anticipate future needs.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills to engage effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Influencing and Negotiation: Capability to persuade stakeholders and influence decision-making regarding talent management initiatives.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills to identify challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • Cultural Awareness: Understanding of diverse workforce dynamics and promoting an inclusive environment
  • Project Management: Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to changing business needs and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Ethical Judgment: Commitment to ethical practices in HR management, ensuring confidentiality and integrity in all activities.
  • Domestic & International travel under 10% of the time.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
