Our client, a leader in the injection molding and plastics industry, is seeking a dynamic Director of Engineering to join their team. This role offers strong visibility over continuous improvement initiatives, new product development (NPD), and manufacturing engineering. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering and manufacturing teams, ensuring processes are optimized for efficiency and quality.
Direct the New Product Development (NPD) process, from concept through commercialization, ensuring products meet market demands and customer expectations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the successful launch of NPD projects, maintaining alignment with company goals and timelines.
Implement and manage lean manufacturing principles to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
Develop and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Partner with manufacturing engineering to ensure that all new products are designed for manufacturability, with an emphasis on cost-effectiveness and quality.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to engineering and manufacturing processes, using data-driven insights to guide decision-making and improvements.
Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in injection molding and plastics technology, applying relevant innovations to the company’s processes and products.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Industrial, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience ( preferably in the injection molding and plastics industry), with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record in leading continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Strong experience with New Product Development (NPD) and bringing products from concept to market
