Responsabilities

  • Perform journal entries over various areas of the business, including, but not limited to, PTO, Stock Compensation Expense, Accrued Revenue, accrued commissions, Accrued Bonus, Intercompany, and Cost of Sales Allocations
  • Review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations over all areas of the business
  • Review employee Corporate Credit Card expenses to ensure compliance with travel and expense policy and to apply proper general ledger coding in compliance with IFRS
  • Collaborate with other employees and departments as needed in order to accomplish various accounting-related tasks
  • Establish accounting policies and procedures as needed in order to enhance the Company's internal control environment and to stay in compliance with IFRS standards
  • Oversee accounting staff to support the overall operation of the department
  • Perform the monthly reporting packages and actual versus budget variances for management and parent Company review
  • Review contracts and unique transactions to evaluate the appropriate accounting treatment under IFRS
  • Collaborate with external auditors to help support the Company’s accounting positions and to provide for an efficient audit process
  • Explore cost control and compliance improvement opportunities
  • Perform other duties as required or requested
  • Utilize SQL and Python to analyze financial data, identify trends, and generate reports that provide actionable insights for management
  • Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Implement best practices in financial management

Requirements

  • Positive attitude and desire to join a fast-paced startup environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from a top-tier university. CPA (or other equivalent) certification required
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably out of public accounting
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS and U.S. GAAP standards
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with the ability to query, analyze, and manage complex datasets
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Working knowledge of internal controls and Sarbanes Oxley
  • Highly motivated and dedicated individual
  • Fluent in English. Spanish and Portuguese speakers are recommended but not required
  • The person can be physically located in the US, Canada, Mexico (Mexico City), or Brazil (São Paulo)
