As the Event Sales Manager for this exciting experiential concept you will be responsible for driving revenue through the sale and execution of private events, corporate functions, and special gatherings hosted at our museum. Leveraging your existing book of business and network of contacts in the event's industry, you will identify opportunities to attract high-profile clients, develop customized event packages, and deliver exceptional experiences that exceed expectations. Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, you will play a key role in maximizing event revenue and enhancing the museum's reputation as a premier destination for memorable gatherings.

Event Sales Manager Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Utilize your existing book of business and network of contacts to identify, prospect, and cultivate relationships with potential event clients, including corporate organizations, event planners, wedding planners, and private individuals. Generate leads through networking events, industry associations, and referrals.
  • Client Consultation: Meet with prospective clients to understand their event objectives, preferences, and budgetary requirements. Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized event proposals and packages that align with client needs and showcase the museum's unique offerings and capabilities.
  • Sales and Negotiation: Lead the sales process from initial inquiry to contract execution, guiding clients through the event planning process and addressing any questions or concerns. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contractual agreements to ensure mutual satisfaction and achieve revenue targets.
  • Event Planning and Execution: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the event planning and execution process, coordinating logistics, timelines, and vendor relationships to ensure seamless delivery of services. Provide on-site support during events to oversee setup, execution, and guest satisfaction.
  • Cross-Selling and Upselling: Identify opportunities to upsell additional services, amenities, or experiences to enhance the overall event experience and maximize revenue potential. Collaborate with internal departments, such as catering, audiovisual, and exhibitions, to offer comprehensive event solutions.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to drive repeat business and referrals. Follow up with clients post-event to gather feedback, address any concerns, and solicit testimonials or reviews.
  • Market Analysis and Trends: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market demand for event services. Analyze sales performance metrics and customer feedback to identify areas of opportunity and inform strategic decision-making.

Event Sales Manager Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event sales or hospitality sales roles, with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building a book of business.
  • Established network of contacts in the events industry, including corporate clients, event planners, and industry influencers.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with clients.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales and marketing tools.
