Test Architect - NeoLoad Performance Testing

The Role

As a Test Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing performance testing strategies using Tricentis NeoLoad. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our applications meet performance requirements and deliver an exceptional user experience under various load conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive performance testing strategies using NeoLoad, aligned with project goals and objectives. This involves understanding application architecture, user scenarios, and non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with development teams to prioritize and address performance optimization opportunities.
  • Select and configure NeoLoad features to accurately simulate user behavior, load, and stress on the application under test. Configure test scenarios, including workload distribution, pacing, and network conditions.
  • Create detailed test plans and scripts using NeoLoad to simulate various user activities and load profiles. Execute performance tests, monitor test runs, and analyze results.
  • Monitor key performance metrics during test execution using NeoLoad's built-in monitoring capabilities. Analyze test results to identify performance bottlenecks, resource constraints, and scalability issues. Provide recommendations for performance optimization based on analysis findings.
  • Develop custom NeoLoad scripts and scenarios to accurately simulate complex user interactions and business workflows. Automate test execution and result analysis wherever possible.
  • Work closely with developers, architects, and other stakeholders to communicate performance test results, share insights, and prioritize performance improvements. Collaborate on identifying and implementing solutions to address performance issues.
  • Establish processes for continuous performance testing using NeoLoad, integrating it into the CI/CD pipeline (where applicable). Monitor application performance in production environments and conduct periodic performance tests to ensure ongoing stability and scalability.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of performance test plans, scripts, configurations, and results. Generate and distribute performance test reports to stakeholders, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and action items.
  • Provide training and support to team members on NeoLoad usage, best practices, and performance testing methodologies. Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the performance testing team.
  • Stay abreast of the latest features and updates in NeoLoad, as well as emerging trends and technologies in performance testing and monitoring. Apply new techniques and tools to enhance the effectiveness of performance testing efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15 years of experience in performance testing, with a focus on designing and implementing performance testing strategies.
  • Proficiency in NeoLoad performance testing tools is a MUST. Familiarity with other tools like JMeter and LoadRunner is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies, including load testing, stress testing, and scalability testing.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python) for test automation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • ISTQB Certifications in performance testing (e.g., ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level, Certified Performance Testing Professional) are a plus.
  • Tricentis Certification including NeoLoad is a MUST.
