Overview: Sweetgreen is seeking a visionary Manager, Supply Chain Business Analytics to lead the design, plan and execution of our analytics for our supply chain organization and transform our practice areas of Sourcing, Supply Management, Demand Management, Quality Assurance and Sustainability through business process modeling, simulation and data-driven innovation. You will set the strategic direction for the practice and you will create and deliver procedures for inter-enterprise multi-year collaboration and your expertise will optimize our end-to-end supply chain, enhance sustainability, and drive competitive advantage in safety, service, cost, quality and growth.

Under executive direction with Sourcing, Supply Management, Demand Management, Quality Assurance, and Sustainability, developing business cases, performing advanced financial analysis, and calculating Net Present Value (NPV) to prioritize strategic initiatives and resource allocations over a three-year horizon. This role demands top-notch analytical and programming skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Case Development:
    • Craft compelling business cases for initiatives across various supply chain functions of Sourcing, Supply Management, Demand Management, Quality Assurance and Sustainability.
    • Conduct advanced financial modeling, including NPV calculations, ROI analysis, and scenario planning to evaluate and prioritize projects with our farmers, suppliers, distributors and operators.
    • Use cutting-edge analytics to identify the most impactful opportunities and support decision-making.
  • Network Demand Management
    • Design, plan and execute network demand forecast models, simulations and tipping points for margin expansion targeting.
    • Design, plan and execute demand sensing capabilities to capture opportunities we deserve and mitigate risks.
    • Design, plan and execute demand shaping activities to maximize margin opportunities
    • Design, plan and execute profitable responses to demand or supply shocks across the network including contingency planning, redundancy and risk offsets.
  • Engagement and Collaboration:
    • Be “At the Table” with suppliers across categories like grocery, produce, dressings, proteins, smallwares, and services to gather data and insights.
    • Influence senior executives, sourcing teams, and operational leaders with data-driven recommendations and insights.
    • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for strategic initiatives.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting:
    • Develop and implement advanced performance tracking systems to monitor and report on the success of supply chain initiatives.
    • Create engaging and insightful performance reports and dashboards for senior leadership.
    • Serve as the "supply chain CFO," providing deep financial analysis and strategic guidance.
  • Enhancing Supplier Relationships:
    • Engage the Strategic Supplier Relationship Management process with data-driven insights and analytics.
    • Collaborate with suppliers on complex initiatives, driving innovation and joint business planning.
    • Establish and monitor joint performance metrics and KPIs to ensure strategic alignment and continuous improvement across six steps of sourcing.
  • Advanced Data Analytics and Process Improvement:
    • Leverage advanced tools like SQL, Python, R, Tableau, and Power BI to analyze supply chain data and uncover trends.
    • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through rigorous validation and quality assurance.
    • Continuously seek to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting processes for better decision-making.
Qualifications

  • Expert Analytical and Technical Skills:
    • Expert background in business analytics, financial modeling, simulation and data analysis within supply chain or related fields.
    • Proficiency with advanced analytics tools and financial modeling software, with a deep understanding of NPV, ROI, and other financial metrics.
    • Knowledge of supply chain management principles, including sourcing, logistics, demand planning, and supplier relationship management.
  • Leadership and Influence:
    • Executive Leadership Experience including Proven track record of leading analytics organizations and driving transformative change in supply chain or related industries.
    • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
    • Track record of driving strategic initiatives and achieving measurable results.
  • Strategic and Analytical Thinking:
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop long-term plans and identify improvement opportunities.
    • Highly analytical mindset, focused on data-driven decision-making.
    • Ability to anticipate industry trends and develop innovative strategies
  • Supplier Collaboration:
    • Experience working collaboratively with suppliers on complex initiatives, fostering innovation and joint planning.
    • Ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships to achieve strategic goals.
  • Sustainability Commitment:
    • Passion for promoting sustainability in supply chain practices, with experience in implementing sustainable strategies.
  • Travel:
    • Willingness to travel extensively (50%) to engage with farmers, suppliers, distribution centers, and stakeholders.

    • Safety:
      • Ensure data-driven insights contribute to 100% adherence to food safety regulations and protocols.
      • Support initiatives to maintain a safe working environment through proactive personnel safety programs and training.
      • Provide analytics support for public safety initiatives to ensure products meet all safety standards.
    • Service:
      • Ensure analytical support helps achieve a 98% service level agreement (SLA) adherence rate for internal and external partners.
      • Develop metrics and dashboards to monitor service performance and identify improvement opportunities.
    • Cost:
      • Provide insights to align product and service costs with company affordability targets, contributing to a minimum of 5% annual cost savings.
      • Use data analysis to identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities in logistics and procurement.
    • Quality:
      • Develop and monitor six-sigma processes to achieve a zero-defect rate in supply chain operations.
      • Ensure analytical processes are consistently repeatable with minimal variation.
    • Growth:
      • Support sustainability initiatives by providing data-driven insights, contributing to a 90% employee retention rate in the supply chain department.
      • Ensure sustainable sourcing practices are supported through robust data analysis.
      • Provide analytics support to achieve a 10% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions annually.
