Quality Engineer

In this role, you will provide product quality and engineering support for customer related concerns and issues relating to products supplied by Standard Motor Products.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Investigate and issue reports on the cause of common product returns and resolve quality concerns with Catalog, Resale, Engineering, and Manufacturing departments.
  • Generate, issue, and track product correction documents.
  • Log quality concerns and provide detailed analysis. Maintain database entries and report on evaluation status.
  • Generate warranty return trend reports for SMP Management.
  • Consolidate corrective action reports from various SMP locations.
  • Support ISO9001 compliance & registration.
  • Provide product and quality support to customer inquiries.
  • Evaluate and disposition potential supplier’s product.
  • Evaluate and disposition discrepant product from suppliers.
  • Work with suppliers to implement design changes and corrective action plans as required.
  • Communicate with buyers, suppliers, online customers, and other departments and divisions by web meeting, telephone, e-mail, and in person.


Requirements:

To qualify, you must have an Engineering or Technical Degree (Quality, Automotive, Electrical or Mechanical), and possess excellent verbal, and written communication skills.

Minimum Of 3 Years Full-time Work Experience.

Certification in Quality Engineering a plus.

Experience in technical writing, supplier quality, failure analysis, automotive parts or service is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft® Word and Excel is required.

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000- 85,000.
