OVERALL FUNCTION:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Amplifier & Transducer Engineering, the Associate Electronics Lab Engineer will construct and test electronic circuits and prototype PCBs under the direction of design engineers. The Associate Electronics Engineer a full-time exempt position earning, $86,998.86- $173,250.51 annually.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build prototype circuits with SMD and QFN components with precision, upholding solder joint quality according to industry standards.
  • Test prototype circuits to validate design performance and ensure that circuits meet specifications.
  • Preform debugging and troubleshooting of circuits while working with R&D team engineers to identify and resolve issues.
  • Understand and follow schematics, layouts, and other technical documentation.
  • Ensure the lab space remains clean and aligned with safety protocols.
  • Arrange and manage equipment, tools, and materials within the lab.
  • Assist in the scheduling of maintenance for tools and equipment when necessary.
  • Engage with engineers and other lab personnel to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and techniques in electronics soldering and assembly.
  • Document test results clearly and concisely and communicate technical information and project details with management and team members.
  • Stay up to date with new technologies, trends, and methodologies to optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.


REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • BSEE or associate degree in Electronics or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in SMD & TH prototype PCB construction and associated soldering techniques and tools (incl fine-pitch)
  • 3+ years of experience in “bring-up” & testing of mixed-signal and power circuitry prototype PCBs.
  • Must have experience debugging mixed signal, DSP, & power circuits and have in-depth experience with advanced test instruments.
  • Thorough understanding of electronic component identification and handling.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in analog and digital prototype construction and circuit testing.
  • Awareness of lab safety protocols, standards, and management.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team-player mindset.
