WordPress Web Strategist

The role of a WordPress Web Strategist is to define and oversee the overall strategy of each project in collaboration with the client.

This includes identifying project goals, setting project timelines, creating project plans, and determining project budgets. The Web Strategist works closely with the client to understand their needs and requirements and - together with the Development Lead - translate them into a comprehensive plan that the development team can deliver. They also oversee the project's progress and adjust the plan as needed.

In this role, you will be tasked with developing a clear understanding of a client's business requirements, market and user requirements. You will use your communication skills, attention to detail, analytical capabilities and knowledge of digital solutions to formulate recommendations, propose information architectures and other documentation that will be used by our development team to deliver the best possible results for our clients.

The key to your success as a digital strategist will be prior experience taking a strategic perspective and drilling down into user and functional requirements, as well as solid knowledge of WordPress at an enterprise level. We are looking for someone with a strong passion for delivering business success for clients, working within, and supporting, a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities:

  • Create digital solutions for clients covering key areas:
  • Conduct research and analysis of the market, target audience, and competitors to develop a comprehensive strategic plan for client projects
  • Work with clients to understand their business goals and develop a plan for achieving them
  • Working on the Information architecture, content migration, and identifying value in the overall engagement
  • Focus on how clients use digital solutions to meet their business objectives, auditing existing solutions, and using data to support recommendations
  • Stay engaged with WordPress and where the platform is headed
  • Creating clear & detailed tickets on larger projects
  • Owning the backlog on large projects
  • Owning the Sprint Goals across all team projects


Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a strategic role focused on website and other solutions, and including requirements definition
  • At least 5 years of experience working with WordPress
  • At least 2 years working in an Enterprise web delivery setting
  • Fluency in creating requirements documentation
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data to provide strategic recommendations
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working within Agile software development projects
