Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Embedded Systems Lead. As the Senior Embedded Systems Lead, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of embedded systems for the Pani water personalization system. You will be involved in all phases of product development including system

architecture, component selection, schematic design, PCB Layout, hardware board bring-up, design verification, embedded software development, production start and ongoing support. The electronics systems will integrate AC power circuits, electro-mechanical control systems, sensors, microcontrollers, microprocessors, wired and wireless communication interfaces, displays and touchscreens.


At Pani you will...

  • Independently develop software and hardware for the control and production of new beverage appliances.
  • Design products that utilize WiFi, Bluetooth, and other IoT-related technologies.
  • Develop and implement firmware, utilizing C and other assembly languages, for prototyping and production of mechanical and electrical concepts.
  • Be responsible for final component selection and qualification.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, quality, and manufacturing engineers to deliver product functionality.
  • Work closely new suppliers in the identification and evaluation of components.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain a comprehensive component specification set that meets internal requirements.
  • Establish a platform approach that meets cost and feature requirements for products at multiple price points and feature sets
  • Conduct lab tests to support component and system validation


We'd love to see...

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent. Advanced degree a big plus.
  • 8+ years' experience in consumer product design or home appliance products.
  • Past experience in the development and scale up of consumer home appliances.
  • Knowledge in electrical CAD tools, such as Altium, for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Experience in electro-mechanical devices, power supplies, and consumer grade components.
  • Familiarity with testing procedures and requirements such as EMI and UL.
  • Experience in working with overseas contract manufacturers
  • Sound knowledge of home appliance safety and international compliance standards.
  • Experience in taking a bench-top concept to full scale-up production.
  • A cross-discipline understanding of engineering as they relate to product design and high-volume manufacturing.
  • An appreciation of the user, and an ability to empathize with the user’s need state and journey.
  • A passion for continuous learning/experimentation and are unafraid to try new things.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. You should be able to articulate your decisions, whiteboard new solutions, present ideas concisely, and defend your beliefs.
