Base pay range

$83,395.00/yr - $154,017.00/yr

State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:

$83,395 to $154,017 (CA, NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)

$75,813 to $140,016 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)

$68,232 to $126,014 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, SE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)

The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.

Position Summary

The Sr. Software Quality Assurance Engineer is an advanced level position that develops automated testing strategies, patterns, and tools that support the testing of new or modified software programs. This position is expected to be working with functional QA teams to ensure the quality of the applications. Able to navigate the automation framework, codebase/API to constantly improve automation framework and code coverage.

Essential Job Functions

  • Master technical tools and implement test automation framework.
  • Review and obtain a detailed understanding of the project scope, requirements, and design in order to develop the appropriate test method to test against them
  • Expand existing automated test scripts
  • Develop reusable test patterns, strategies and plan
  • Develop test cases that test application changes and impacts based on functional requirements and design documents
  • Develop and implement automated script and programs which support the automation individual test cases
  • Execute test cases, log results and file bug report
  • Collaborate with the project team on reviews, reports, and communicating status updates
  • Mentor less experienced members of the quality assurance team and serves as a subject matter expert SME

  • Cordially and professionally interact with customers, vendors, superiors and peers
  • Regular attendance on a full-time schedule of at least 8 hours and 40 hours per week

Education

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience

  • 3-4 years of experience in software development, including 1-2 years of directly related experience or in the capacity of a Software QA Engineer II; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-4 years of working experience in software quality assurance automation framework
  • 3-4 years of working experience with API testing
  • 3-4 years of working experience with agile development environment
  • Demonstrated capability to take responsibility of timely delivery to meet release cycle
  • Working experience with Java, Jekins, Github, CI/CD, Confluence, IDE, Mongo DB, SQL
  • Experience of maintaining testing environment is a plus

Knowledge And Skills

  • Ability to independently organize work processes, set priorities and make decisions on assignments
  • Must have proven leadership abilities and dedication to mentoring technical staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate professionally at all levels within and outside of the organization
  • Proficient in MS applications (Excel, Word, Access).
  • Strong proficiency in programming langues such as Java, Python, Mongo DB or similar
  • Specific systems knowledge and experience may be required based on assignment.
  • Knowledge of current computer system including system layout, capabilities, database manipulation, screen information, and work processes
  • Deep knowledge of Agile methodology, SDLC, and CI/CD
  • Requires critical attention to detail and motivation to efficiently complete assigned projects
  • Ability to thrive in cross-functional matrix environment
  • Requires critical thinking skill and problem solving skills to ensure the product quality and efficiently complete assigned projects
