The candidate will be part of a team responsible for developing and supporting the planning, design, and execution of test plans, test scripts, and process plans for software systems developed for analytical/laboratory instruments. The successful candidate will work closely with the software development, engineer and product support teams to perform and validate test cases based on quality requirements, and recommend changes to predetermined quality guidelines. Responsibilities You will be responsible for ensuring that the end product meets the minimum quality standards, is fully functional and user-friendly. Understand business requirements to implement best-fit approaches to testing, ensure that applications and new features work as expected Understand and analyze user stories, requirements or product specifications Use the Agile implementation to document test cases, record progress and results Develop standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness Create test plans and automated tests, perform manual and automated testing Discover bugs within software; Identify, isolate and track bugs throughout testing Identify any potential problems that users may encounter Research new tools, technologies, and testing processes Review user interfaces for consistency and functionality Create documentations and manuals for purposes of training external product support teams, coordinate with support team in ensuring successful software deployment This will be a highly visible role requiring strong communication and collaboration across multiple organizations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relatedfield Strong ability to work on and diagnose issues with devices and instrumentation such as sensors and motors Working experience in quality inspection, auditing, and testing enterprise applications using software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes Strong computer skills and knowledge of QA databases and applications Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail required Possess experience in implementing device control systems an asset Working experience in the design, configuration, development and implementation of .NET/C#, WPF an asset Elemental Scientific, Inc. is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
