Job Title: Instructional Designer
Department: Operations
Reports To: Training Manager
Position location: This is a remote position; however, candidates must reside in the Kansas City Metro area in order to be considered.
Summary: Caliber Financial Services, a leading fintech company, is looking for a skilled Instructional Designer to join our team. This position gives an exciting opportunity to significantly impact learning experiences at Caliber. The Instructional Designer will have creative reign in designing engaging training material utilizing instructional design theories and methods to meet desired learning outcomes.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Utilize authoring tools and instructional technologies to create compelling and engaging online courses, modules, tutorials, quizzes, and other learning activities
- Demonstrate proficiency with course authoring software such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate, or Camtasia
- Work and effectively communicate with individual department managers to assess, develop and organize goals and needs
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify specific training objectives
- Design material aligning with learning objectives and business outcomes
- Serve as administrator of the Learning Management System where designed content is housed for learner access
- Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results, identify performance gaps and material modifications
- Exhibit established and effective learning methods, techniques, and ideas, as well as incorporate new practices to continually enhance learning, processes, and content
- Balance multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, complex, changing environment
- Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
- Develop positive relationships across the organization to remain knowledgeable about all business requirements impacting training
- 3 years of experience as an Instructional Designer
- Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design methods
- Experience working with key stakeholders to establish training goals and designing supporting curricula and content
- Experience with course authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate, or Camtasia
- Call center experience
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with internal departments and leadership on a regular basis
- Ability to solve problems, or proactively seek a resolution through other resources in a timely fashion
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications such as Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Work Environment
This is a remote position. Candidates must reside in the Kansas City Metro area in order to be considered. Our business is currently operating in a hybrid manner, however this MAY change or vary in 2024, based on the environment and business need.
