About The Job

Liquid Death is currently looking for an experienced and collaborative Paralegal/Contracts Manager to be the third hire to join our bold, high-growth beverage company and be a key partner in the legal department. Proximity to Los Angeles, CA headquarters is preferred. Requirement to come to the office once a week, and travel up to 4 times a year. Will consider highly qualified remote candidate; however, must be key and preferred requirements

This role is responsible for providing high-level legal support to our small in-house legal team (one General Counsel and one Commercial Commercial) and from time to time, the finance/accounting and executive team generally. The key responsibilities include: (1) manage and distribute inbound workflows from the company’s contract management system, (2) provide contract review support for form agreements, (3) provide support for use of Carta cap table and equity management system, (4) general legal support and (5) from time to time, executive support. This role will provide interaction with all of Liquid Death from the C-suite to the newest hires.

Responsibilities

• Act as a primary point of contact for inbound legal work requests and distribute work to the legal team and/or outside counsel.
• Draft, negotiate and manage various legal documents, including contracts, templates, summaries, organizational documents, reports, correspondence, presentations and other ancillary documents
• Maintain contract lifecycle management platform
• Process stock and option administration in Carta
• Assist with and respond to Know Your Client (KYC) or audit requests
• Assist in preparing various filings, including corporate and regulatory filings
• Conduct general legal research on various legal issues, including on intellectual property, contracts, employment law, and data privacy
• Assist with trademark and copyright clearance searches, filings, and portfolio management
• Prepare and edit presentations, legal documents, memos and other work products, as needed.
• From time to time, provide administrative support, including scheduling management, travel arrangements, expense/invoice management, communication support, legal and people document execution
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate or equivalent experience required
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a paralegal or contract review experience required
• Minimum 2+ years In-house experience
• Must have proficiency in Google Suite & Microsoft applications, including Gmail, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and a willingness to learn other systems
• Experience with Carta or other similar equity management platform
• Experience with contract management platform is strongly preferred
• Industry Experience is strong plus: Consumer products or services, preferred: consumer packaged goods (CPG), beverage, retail, or advertising
• Legal expertise in these areas is a strong plus: Experience in marketing, intellectual property (trademarks & copyright), consumer litigation or influencer marketing
• Entrepreneurial mindset: Must excel at working in an entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. If you want to work at a big corporation, this isn’t for you.

The Pay Range For This Role Is

80,000 - 100,000 USD per year(HQ)
