Responsibilities
- Performs a range of procedures in a BSL2 laboratory to support virology and serological assays
- Perform viral transfections, virus titrations, and routine cell culture.
- Performs functional serological assays including but not limited to neutralization and receptor binding/inhibition ELISA.
- Prepare reagents, perform routine cell culture, and participate in new assay development and preclinical testing utilizing aseptic techniques.
- Propagation and development of pseudovirus, reverse genetics and wild-type viruses, and development-related assays.
- Stable cell line generation, cloning, PCR, and mutagenesis
- Keep accurate documentation and analyze data
- Participate in meetings to discuss literature and ongoing work.
- Ability to work independently with supervision
- Other duties as assigned
- Cell Culture, Microneutralization, Pseudoneutralization, Receptor Inhibition Assays, ELISA, Virus Titration, Transfection, Cloning, PCR,
- Minimum of 1-3 year’s experience in research, pharmaceutical, and/or vaccine development field.
- Basic background knowledge of chemistry, biology, virology and immunology
- Familiarity with various immunological assays: ELISA, HAI, virus titration, and microneutralization.
- Molecular genetics and molecular virology experience, a plus
- Must have cell culture experience
- Proficiency or familiarity in Microsoft Office, SoftMax, and GraphPad Prism
- Clear and concise communication skills
- Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
- Team player with the ability to work cross-functionally
- B.S. or M.S. in Immunology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology, Genetics, or a related field.
