Controller

Our client, a well-established and respected medical organization, is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee business unit accounting and analysis, support business operations and manage staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, with a focus on compliance, analysis and strategic support.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Ensure policies and processes are in place with appropriate internal controls, in compliance with GAAP
• Conduct profitability analyses for all organizational levels
• Coordinate and manage the review and analysis of annual budgets and forecasts for specific business units
• Manage financial reporting of revenues and profitability
• Lead complex ad hoc projects involving the analysis of financial and operating data
• Review contracts and resolve contractual matters with multiple stakeholders
• Collaborate with business units to review and advise on performance, new initiatives and related organizational impacts
• Lead direct and indirect reports; evaluate team performance and support team development

Controller Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting with CPA
• 10+ years of combined professional and managerial experience
• Current knowledge of US GAAP and industry or public accounting experience
• Proven experience with financial information systems. Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Highly proficient communication and analytical skills required
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels and functions of the organization
• Highly attentive to details, organized and effective at managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills, such as problem solving and decision making
