Director of Fleet Operations

The Director of Field Operations will be responsible for managing and coordinating all field operations activities, including overseeing general managers and field technicians who service our customers. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a customer-focused approach to drive efficiency, improve service quality, and support the growth of SparkCharge’s mobile charging network.

The Company

SparkCharge is a fast-growing cleantech start-up that is reducing barriers to Electric Vehicle (EV) adoption. We design, manufacture, and sell portable, Level 3 charging systems for EVs. We also provide “Mobile Charging-as-a-Service” (MCaaS) through our “SparkCharge Mobile” network, which allows EV owners and businesses to schedule an EV charge delivery to wherever their vehicle is located. Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of general managers and field technicians, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee all field operations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery, including scheduling, resource allocation, and logistics management.
  • Service Quality: Implement and maintain high standards of service quality, ensuring all customer interactions meet or exceed expectations. Address and resolve any service-related issues promptly.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve operational processes, enhance productivity, and reduce costs. Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Foster a customer-centric culture within the field operations team. Monitor customer feedback and implement strategies to improve satisfaction and retention.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all field operations comply with relevant safety regulations and company policies. Promote a culture of safety and ensure all team members are trained and adhere to safety standards.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of field operations. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive operational improvements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including sales, customer service, and engineering, to ensure seamless coordination and support for field operations.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the budget for field operations, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and alignment with financial goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in field operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in the EV, automotive, or renewable energy sectors is highly preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Strong ability to motivate, mentor, and manage people effectively.
  • Operational Expertise: Deep understanding of field operations best practices, process improvement, and performance management. Experience with logistics and resource allocation.
  • Customer Focus: Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and enhancing customer experience. Experience in handling operational challenges that impact customer satisfaction.
  • Safety and Compliance: Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in field operations. Experience in promoting and maintaining a culture of safety.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and solve complex operational issues.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, engineering, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
