THE OPPORTUNITY

Due to an upcoming retirement, we are recruiting a Financial Controller on behalf of West Wawanosh Mutual Insurance Company (WWMIC). This is a unique opportunity to take on a senior leadership role in a company that is rooted in community, financially sound and continuing to grow.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will serve as a trusted strategic business advisor, providing meaningful analysis, strategic viewpoints, and financial reporting to support WWMIC and their Board of Directors. As a key member of the senior leadership team of three, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's financial strategy and future success.

In this role, you will oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring effective internal and external controls are in place and adhered to. You will lead the budgeting process, manage payroll and collaborate on surplus investment decisions to maximize returns. You will work with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) to ensure WWMIC is in line with all regulatory compliance. Furthermore, you will provide long-term sustainable value by managing a robust risk framework, and actively monitoring financial performance through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

• High-Potential CPA: You hold CPA credentials (or equivalent), with solid IFRS knowledge, have a proven track record in fiscal management and enjoy communicating financial information to non-financial stakeholders

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with background and experience and will include a base salary and a comprehensive benefit package.
