Supplier Quality Technician

Position Purpose

The Supplier Quality Technician is responsible for the processing and disposition of all Supplier non-conforming material. The Supplier Quality Technician will inspect, approve/reject incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting unacceptable materials.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities

  • Perform inspection on raw materials and finished products in accordance with established procedures, supporting all assembly lines.
  • Approve, reject items and document inspection results as required.
  • Disposition rejected material back to the suppliers.
  • Direct email communication with JCB suppliers regarding non-conforming parts
  • Perform material revalidation and requalification audits.
  • Provide input into improving existing inspection procedures and process.
  • Perform an active role in further Supplier continuous improvement within the JCB.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Quality Supervisor in line with company goals and objectives.
  • Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies of JCB.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Understand and practice company Quality Policies.
  • Record inspection and test results.
  • Communicate inspection/test results to other team members, Supervisors or Managers.

Reports to Quality Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments tests as applicable.
  • 1-3 years of inspection and/or technical understanding of current JCB product lines
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Etc.
  • SAP

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates Degree preferred
  • Technical background
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work flexible schedule which may include Saturday.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently and/or move up to 35lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities. These activities may involve fine movements or large motions.
  • Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist.
  • Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed.
  • Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force.
  • Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment.
