American Share Insurance is offering a full-time employment opportunity to candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance to join our Examination and Insurance staff. Job duties include:

  • Conduct examinations of member credit unions;
  • Professionally and thoroughly execute written audit programs, instructions and guidelines.
  • Resolve any incomplete elements of examinations or written correspondence with member credit unions.
  • Communicate any unusual discoveries or findings arising from examinations to management and examination staff.
  • Prepare a detailed written report of the findings of examinations;
  • Ensure continued professional development by completing training courses provided by the Company and staying abreast of changes in regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to auditing and examination processes and the credit union industry.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information obtained as part of an examination or other correspondence with credit unions.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.
  • Employees gain a great deal of exposure to the operations of financial institutions of various sizes and complexity. Our auditing staff communicates audit findings verbally and through written reports with senior management of these institutions.
  • Employees are also provided with job-specific training and are encouraged to pursue advanced degrees and certifications.
  • Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
  • Overnight travel of up to approximately 35% may be required, with a concentration of business in California, Nevada, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.

  • Written/Oral Communications - Expresses ideas and thoughts clearly and persuasively; varies communication style to meet different needs; participates in meetings; able to interpret information presented; uses appropriate communication methods.

Other Requirements:

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and data analytics tools.

Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in auditing.
