Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous Test Analyst to join our QA team. The Test Analyst will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and reporting on test strategies and test cases to ensure the quality and reliability of our software applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual testing methodologies, test planning, defect management, and a passion for delivering high-quality software products.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional and technical specifications.
  • Execute manual tests to identify software defects, usability issues, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Perform functional testing, regression testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) as needed.
  • Document and report bugs, errors, and test results in a clear and concise manner using bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
  • Work closely with software developers and QA engineers to analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution of defects.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for testing processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Provide status updates on testing progress, issues, and risks to project stakeholders.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (relevant experience and certifications may substitute).
  • Proven experience as a Test Analyst, QA Analyst, or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing testing projects.
  • Hands-on experience with manual testing techniques and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with test management tools and bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (optional but advantageous).
