Position Summary
Trend Micro is seeking a HW Test Engineer to join the TippingPoint System HW Development Team whose responsibilities include the design and verification of next generation Network Security platforms. The successful candidate will work with a talented team that designs these leading edge, high performance network security protection appliances that reside in enterprise data centers and central offices to direct, inspect and filter malicious traffic. The HW Test Engineer's primary responsibility will be to develop, maintain, and execute automated HW tests to run across voltage and temperature corners. Secondary responsibilities include component qualifications, debug assistance, failure analysis assistance, and various product engineering activities.

The HW Test Engineer's primary responsibility will be to develop, maintain, and execute automated HW tests to run across voltage and temperature corners. Secondary responsibilities include component qualifications, debug assistance, failure analysis assistance, and various product engineering activities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain automated EDVT Test Environment consisting of temperature chambers, terminal servers, network switches
- Develop automated EDVT Tests for new designs, with the ability to understand the new designs to effectively exercise the HW
- Work with HW Design Engineers to implement HW Design features to aid in automated HW Testing
- Work with HW Design Engineers, FPGA Design Engineers, SW Developers to develop full system test strategy and implement necessary scripts for exercising specific subsystems
- Full documentation of test environment per platform, including detailed documentation of individual tests, test procedures, and test reports/results
- Work with Design Team to debug test failures with an emphasis on root-cause-analysis, drive to closure
- Component Qualifications for specific commodity devices (DIMMs, Transceivers, etc) or specific multi-source components within the design
- BSEE with 2-5 years of experience in EDVT Test Development for datacenter or networking products
- Ability to read/understand system-level HW block diagrams with basic knowledge of CPUs, Microcontrollers, FPGAs, Network Switches
- Ability to read/understand electrical schematics and PCB CAD designs
- Python programming experience
- Embedded Linux experience and shell scripting experience
- Experience with instrument control and automation
- Basic HW Debugging Skills including the use of Oscilloscopes and Logic Analyzers
- Basic understanding of networking is a plus
- Experience in x86 Server Architecture is a plus
- Experience in networking equipment design is a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
