Job Overview:
MATE the Label is seeking an experienced Technical Designer to join our Product Team. As our Technical Designer, you will play a crucial role in bringing our design concepts to life by overseeing the technical aspects of garment development and production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical design, patternmaking, and fitting processes for knits and wovens.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the design and merchandising team to understand creative concepts and translate them into technical specifications.
Develop detailed technical sketches, tech packs, and specifications for all stages of garment production.
Conduct thorough fittings to ensure that designs meet quality and fit standards while adhering to brand aesthetics.
Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to address any technical issues and ensure smooth production processes.
Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and sustainable practices to enhance the brand's commitment to clean, ethical fashion.
Schedule and book fit model as needed
Qualifications:
8-10+ years experience as a Technical Designer
Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Technical Designer in the fashion industry, with a focus on sustainable practices.
Proficient in CAD software and other relevant design tools.
Strong understanding of patternmaking, fit, and garment construction for knits and wovens.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Passion for sustainable and ethical fashion practices.
