Editorial Coordinator - Spanish Bilingual

The Global Publishing team is seeking a Editorial Coordinator - Spanish Bilingual to be responsible for the ongoing development of trustworthy content that ensures soundness and relevance in Spanish Educational Resources. This position is responsible for coordinating the editorial process, collaborating with colleagues, writers, and outside vendors to complete production requirements.

This is a remote position in the United States, with occasional travel for team meetings and to conferences and events. This role requires U.S. residency and work authorization.

Responsibilities

A Editorial Coordinator will.....

  • Coordinate the creation, editing, and publishing of Spanish content for various platforms, including print and digital media
  • Ensure all content aligns with Lifeway's style guide and editorial policies, and with the doctrinal guidelines of the SBC and the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
  • Manage the editorial calendar and ensure deadlines are met
  • Coordinate with writers, editors, and other contributors to ensure timely submission of content
  • Facilitate communication between editorial team members, including many writers, editors, designers, and other external contractors and stakeholders
  • Schedule and lead m eetings with external contractors to discuss project progress and address any issues
  • Manage relationships with freelance writers, editors, and other external contributors
  • Draft contracts and ensure deliverables are met according to agreed upon terms.
  • Coordinate the processing and payment of invoices with the accounting department
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments to ensure cohesive content production
  • Act as a liaison between the editorial team and other departments, such as marketing, sales, and production
  • Maintain accurate records of editorial activities, including budgets, contracts, invoices, and project timelines

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, Journalism or related field.
  • Seminary degree or equivalent in biblical studies preferred.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 1-2 years editorial coordination and administration
  • Minimum 1-2 years proofreading content and editing in English and Spanish
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) written and verbal skills
    • Proficiency in oral and written Spanish is mandatory (native speaker)
  • MS Office Suite - Intermediate
  • Knowledge of editorial workflow and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Ilustrator) is preferred
  • Active membership in a Southern Baptist Church is preferred
