Client is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join our talented team in RF Design.

Responsibilities include the functional management of an Electrical Engineering department focusing on RF design across the Space and Airborne Systems segment.

Essential Functions

  • The RF Design Engineering Manager is responsible for leading approximately 60 Electrical Engineers that support the company's Space and Airborne Systems Segment. This includes supervision and leading of the Engineering organization including planning, development, and execution of all Engineering tasking on projects, pursuits, and programs. The Engineering Manager will also provide coaching and leadership development for a staff of Group Leaders.
  • Meet functional requirements of staffing, recruiting, training, talent development, engagement, retention, and overall management of RF design
  • Be accountable for RF design performance across the Space and Airborne Systems segment, and own the design and development process (including tools and process flows) for RF designs
  • Drive engineering productivity performance, improvements, and measures, and implement enduring corrective actions for design escapes
  • Proactively collaborate with Engineering Managers across Electrical Engineering to support business demands across the Space and Airborne Systems segment
  • Meet functional organization Annual Operating Plan direct labor revenue targets
  • Hold weekly one on one meetings with direct staff to build relationships and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Perform risk assessments on programs within the Space and Airborne Systems segment
  • Support pursuits and proposals in the business, including review/approval of technical proposals and Basis of Estimates as needed.
  • Provide technical evaluation and oversight of program execution. Lead technical issue resolution when required. Participate and form Independent Review Teams to conduct technical review and oversight.
  • Lead department-level talent development, including technical and leadership succession planning, and implement knowledge transfer initiatives
  • Manage department budgets and identify department training required
  • This position reports to the Director of Power, Analog, RF and Antenna Electrical Engineering for Space and Airborne Systems
  • Travel will be required. This department will have employees across various Space and Airborne Systems locations, including NJ, NY, PA, NH, IN, CA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 12+ years relevant experience, OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 9 years' experience with RF design tools and technologies.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in leading/managing Electrical Engineers or Engineering designs
  • Experience in RF design analysis/simulation and design techniques.
  • Knowledge of the design and performance characteristics and limitations of amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, filters, etc.
  • Knowledge of lumped and distributed element design of common RF passive components such as power splitters, bias tees, filters, matching networks, etc.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform cascade analysis of Gain, #####ise Figure, #####ise Power, Intercept Point, output power, etc.
  • Experience in driving processes and controls for design assurance

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is a plus
