Position Summary
Our hotel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Food and Beverage to oversee all aspects of our food and beverage operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the hospitality industry, with extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations, including banquet services, restaurants, room service, bar/lounge, and catering. The Director of Food and Beverage will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality in food and beverage offerings, providing exceptional guest experiences, and achieving financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strategic plan for the food and beverage department that aligns with the overall goals of the hotel
- Oversee all aspects of food and beverage operations including planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, budgeting, forecasting, purchasing, inventory control, staffing levels, training programs, menu development, and pricing strategies
- Monitor guest satisfaction levels through regular feedback from guests as well as online reviews to ensure high-quality service standards are met
- Establish performance standards for all staff members within the department including hiring criteria, training programs, and staff development initiatives
- Ensure compliance with health codes and regulations while maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout all areas of responsibility
- Manage relationships with suppliers/vendors to negotiate competitive pricing for goods and services while maintaining quality standards
- Collaborate with other departments such as sales/marketing to develop promotions/events that drive revenue for the hotel's outlets
- Conduct regular meetings with the management team to review performance metrics (i.e. revenue/profitability targets), discuss challenges/opportunities within the department or hotel as a whole
- Prepare annual budgets for all outlets in conjunction with accounting/finance teams; monitor expenses regularly to ensure financial targets are being met or exceeded
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration or relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior food and beverage management role at an upscale hotel or resort
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing and developing teams
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
- In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations including industry trends, best practices, and current technologies (i.e. POS systems)
- Proven ability to drive revenue growth through innovative ideas and effective cost-control measures
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
