The Role: The Staff Quality Engineer position at Forge entails leading the creation of comprehensive test strategies for complex projects, ensuring thorough coverage of customer use cases and driving early testing practices especially with large trading systems. The role involves prioritizing and implementing valuable automation tests, fostering collaboration among teams to enhance code quality, and swiftly acquiring domain knowledge. The Staff Quality Engineer's responsibilities contribute significantly to improving product quality, optimizing testing efficiency, and aligning with Forge's core values, ultimately delivering exceptional product experiences and reinforcing Forge's commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. This is a on-site hybrid role and requires the to be in our NYC office at least 3 days a week Responsibilities: Develop comprehensive “bottom-up” test strategies and plans tailored for the trading team Craft detailed test plans covering various customer use cases specific to our Trading Platform, including functional, compliance, and legal aspects Engage in projects from initiation to identify gaps in requirements and failure modes in the design, with a focus on trading functionalities Act as a force multiplier to assist developers in shifting testing left, improve code quality, especially within the context of our Trading Platform team Automate tests based on value and priority, with a keen understanding of the unique challenges in trading platform environments Collaborate closely with product, design, information security, and business teams to swiftly grasp domain knowledge related train Provide technical expertise in issue diagnosis and resolution offering workaround solutions or escalating as needed Qualifications: 10+ years of experience within software testing with a focus on trading platforms within fintech, trading, or financial services industry 8+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience with proficiency in programming languages like Python, Expertise in test automation on UI, API, or other domains, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges in trading environments Proven experience enhancing existing Test Automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, etc. or similar tools Ability to lead quality testing initiatives and efforts for trading systems and applications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant experience in related field in lieu of degree Preferred Qualifications: Deep exposure to E2E Automation, contract testing, API Automation Familiarity with CI/CD Pipelines Proven ability to provide mentorship and guidance to other quality engineers Demonstrated track record of teamwork and successful deliveries Exposure working with high-growth, venture-backed startups For residents of San Francisco/Bay Area, CA or New York, NY the annual salary range for this role is $175,000 - $185,000 + bonus. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, bonus, and other factors Forge implements a mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, which applies to all employees.
