Job Description

The Vice President of Productions and Operations is a pivotal figure in our unscripted studio, acting as the nexus between development and production. Reporting to the EVP and Head of Production, this role entails comprehensive oversight of operational aspects, from budgeting to problem-solving, ensuring flawless project execution. The VP drives efficiencies to boost production margins and supervises a team of Production Directors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor production budgets, cost reports, and financial projections to ensure fiscal targets are met.
  • Collaborate closely with creative teams to navigate operational challenges across all production stages.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to keep the production team abreast of industry developments and ensure alignment with evolving production standards and practices.
  • Implement strategies to optimize efficiencies and enhance studio margins.
  • Manage a growing team of Production Directors, Managers and Coordinators, offering guidance and support as they oversee program-specific production details.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to refine production processes.
  • Evaluate workload, staffing, and production timelines to facilitate growth.
  • Coordinate with legal teams during project transitions from development to production.
  • Set up financial projections and cost reporting processes in collaboration with Finance and Production Management.
  • Liaise with executives for routine cost reporting and margin evaluation.
  • Propose staff amortization strategies for financial optimization in conjunction with finance.
  • Manage legal conversations from contract to post-production.
  • Collaborate with Production Legal and Rights & Clearances teams to establish programming protocols.
  • Cultivate a collaborative work environment that fosters innovation and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Minimum twelve years of experience in production management or operations in the entertainment industry, specializing in unscripted and live programming.
  • Proven track record in managing production budgets, cost reports, and financial projections.
  • Minimum eight years as a linear or streaming network executive.
  • Experience managing programming budgets with a range of no less than $750M in a fiscal year
  • Strong leadership skills with a history of mentoring production professionals.
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones including some international.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a knack for thriving in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard production software and tools.

Compensation

Annual Pay Range: $205,747 - $240,724

Annual Incentive Target: 25.00%

The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the

minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will

be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills,
