Position Summary:

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for completing professional engineering assignments supporting the design and development of new internal combustion engines used in our industrial market segment. This role includes leading and participating in projects involving the design, fabrication, validation, and manufacture of complex systems or processes. Your success will be measured on the ability to effectively lead and maintain tight timelines for new combustion system designs.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performs assignments of a complex nature requiring a high degree of technical competence while planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects related to engine design and system processes
  • Conceives and plans projects to explore and resolve product or process problems
  • Defines and selects new concepts and approaches to the design or development of new or improved products, equipment, or processes
  • Consolidates and presents results of design reviews of major projects to members of the engineering group and company leadership
  • Provide technical guidance and act as a mentor to less experienced engineers, designers, and technicians
  • Design and release engine components per specifications utilizing 3D CAD software
  • Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment and navigating the plant with alert behavior
  • All other duties assigned by Management

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or another closely related Engineering discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience
  • Subject Matter Expert with demonstrated success in full life cycle design of internal combustion engines and systems including Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA)
  • Significant experience utilizing Solidworks 3D CAD software to design engines, ideally in conjunction with Geometric Dimensions & Tolerancing (GD&T) documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanically inclined and savvy
  • Experience designing test plans for engines
  • Experience with a wide variety of fuel engines including diesel, gasoline, propane, and natural gas
