The Marketing and Communications Coordinator helps develop and coordinate marketing communications activities for Personal Banking. The incumbent will meet the needs of the branch network by implementing channel- and media-based marketing tactics and special projects and tracking the results. He or she will also work on the activities in the Marketing Communications team’s annual plan, as per the marketing plan for the Personal Banking business line.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the marketing strategy based on a brief from the Personal Banking product team and/or the business needs of that business line.
  • Work collaboratively to identify consumer needs that will define the consumer journey. Adopt a client-centric approach and consider the mindset of each targeted client segment with regard to the sound management of their personal finances.
  • Help roll out marketing communications activities in accordance with the associated strategies, budgets and timeframes.
  • Propose marketing tactics that can work across multiple channels and/or media (i.e., digital marketing, one-to-one marketing, promotions, advertising, point-of-service merchandising, social media marketing, and SEM/SEO marketing).
  • Help draft creative and editorial briefs for certain team activities, liaise between the different business units and suppliers at all stages (creation, writing, programming/production, approval, etc.) to help make sure things go smoothly, and be involved in quality control.
  • Ensure that the form and methods used are leveraged for maximum impact and aligned with the positioning, branding and objectives of the Personal Banking business line.
  • Help develop and update the marketing tools and documents used for marketing campaigns and services.
  • Monitor and understand the results of the team’s activities and ongoing campaigns.
  • Track trends, opportunities, and the competition’s commercialization and digital marketing tactics.
  • Assist more experienced professionals with specific tasks and be coached on an ad hoc basis.
  • Stay abreast of current legislation, policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Perform all tasks requested by his or her supervisor or required for the job.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or communications
  • At least two years of relevant experience in a similar position, with proven experience working on integrated campaigns
  • Media or advertising agency experience or other marketing-related expertise (an asset)

Specific competencies

  • Knowledge of marketing B2C products and services (promotion, 360 marketing, one-to-one marketing, digital marketing, social media marketing, and SEM/SEO marketing)
  • Good judgement and ability to come up with client- and results-oriented ideas

  • Autonomy, sense of initiative, and proactivity

  • Excellent writing skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Canada’s two official languages (French and English)*
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages
