Mission:

As the Manager of the Verification & Validation group, your primary objective is to lead and manage the Quality Assurance, Test Automation, and Durability & Scalability subgroups. This group serves as the quality arm of the development teams, performing the right-hand side of the V-Model. Despite the division into three subgroups, the collective responsibility is to ensure that proper development tests are conducted prior to System Acceptance Testing (SAT).

Your role involves fostering a culture of quality, driving automation efforts, and ensuring the durability and scalability of our solutions. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining the high standards of our development process and ultimately, the quality of our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead team to ensure that safety features, functions and controls are prioritized in test plans and test case coverage.
  • Develop strategies to ensure comprehensive test coverage on engineering releases, aiming to minimize field defects.
  • Take full responsibility for the testing process throughout the development phase of Product Development Life Cycle.
  • Manage testing resources, including their scheduling, prioritization, and maintenance.
  • Coordinate testing efforts and personnel to guarantee efficient and thorough testing of Automation solutions.
  • Lead the team in reviewing requirements and preparing test cases.
  • Supervise the execution of tests and the reporting of defects.
  • Support root cause analysis for issues related to test, production, and field failures.
  • Report on the status of testing.
  • Guide, train, and mentor testers in best practices, processes, and tools, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support employees in reaching their potential through coaching, mentoring, training, and individual meetings.
  • Uphold and embody Epiroc’s Core Values in all aspects of work performed.
  • The position requires 25% travel and the ability to move around mining job sites.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of QA testing or related technical experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role. Must include software QA testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Systems/Technology, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Familiarity with regression and general testing protocols.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience in teamwork and individual accountability.
  • Humility to listen and follow instructions, combined with confidence to learn and ask questions.
  • Familiarity with the Agile software development methodology preferred.
  • Willingness to learn Linux operating systems and proprietary software installation and diagnostics.
  • Experience using tools such as SmartBear TestComplete, Winnium, Selenium WebDriver, .NET, C#, Visual Basic, Python, PHP, shell scripting, and Visual Studio IDE
  • Must demonstrate Ownership and Accountability
  • Must be able to create vision and translate into tangible layers for execution
  • Requires excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Must be able to perform in a team-oriented environment
  • A detail-oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem diagnosis skills with a keen attention to detail.
