Position: Assistant Project Manager

Job Location: HCBeck, Ltd., Dallas, Texas

Job Duties:

  • Create, process, and ensure compliance of subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicate effectively and continuously with design team to ensure coordination is maintained.
  • Understand what constitutes a breach of contract and the steps involved to enforce.
  • Identify and lead cost savings efforts through value engineering or assembly of accurate general conditions estimate.
  • Identify customer’s needs and understand their culture.
  • Establish relationships with Subcontractors, Vendors, Developers, and outside consultants to market the company.
  • Identify and solicit work from qualified subcontractors/vendors.
  • Understand and implement company Health and Safety plan.
  • Develop accurate project schedules and pull plan with Superintendent input, provide monthly schedule updates, and assist Superintendent with weekly look ahead schedules utilizing software.
  • Effectively supervise and mentor Senior Project Engineers, Project Engineers, and Interns.
  • Work with design team in regard to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.
  • Form relationships with end-users to be able to better identify their needs and understand their culture.
  • Generate multiple creative design solutions and present design ideas in front of end-users
  • Maintain direct contact with all members of project team including: Owners, Designers, Design and Specialty Consultants, Preconstruction, Construction as well as Sub-Contractors to produce as a team, highly detailed and coordinated contract documents for projects to be built.
  • In connection with above duties, utilize experience in the healthcare construction industry in the following: understanding interim life safety and infectious controls measures; understanding construction safety and ability to identify and correct safe or unsafe work practices; effective communication with team members, subcontractors, clients, architects, and engineers; soliciting bids, reviewing proposals, leveling bid tabs, and drafting subcontracts for various scopes of work; understanding construction project schedules and managing subcontractors to completion of scope within the project schedule; reviewing, negotiating and managing change orders for subcontractors; understanding and assembling monthly project financial reports for manager; and implementing and leading effective project meetings with subcontractors, issuing meeting agendas and minutes, and ensuring follow-up items are completed.
