What You Bring To The Table

The Senior Project Engineer - Commissioning Coordinator (CxC) will play a critical role in ensuring that all systems and components of our commercial construction projects are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of our clients. This position involves overseeing the commissioning process from the early design phases through to project completion, ensuring all building systems perform interactively according to the design intent and the client’s operational needs.

The position involves the following essential functions:

  • Help develop and implement detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and strategies.
  • Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to establish commissioning goals and objectives.
  • Manage commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Oversee the verification and functional performance testing of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and control systems.
  • Ensure that all systems are correctly installed and operational.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any issues during the commissioning process and work with the project team to resolve them promptly.
  • Prepare comprehensive commissioning documentation, including test scripts, test plans, checklists, reports, and logs.
  • Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities, findings, and resolutions.
  • Provide regular progress updates and final commissioning reports to stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and project specifications throughout the commissioning process.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify the quality and completeness of installed systems.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all commissioning-related activities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of commissioning activities with overall project schedules.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination among all project stakeholders.

You also meet the following requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant construction project or preconstruction experience
  • College graduate with relevant degree OR equivalent experience in lieu of college degree
  • Formal Commissioning (Cx) credentials from UW, BCA, AEE, ACG, or ASHRAE. In lieu of those credentials, other Cx credentials can be submitted for evaluation and potential acceptability.
  • Experience using Excel, Synchro, Procore, Bluebeam, Egnyte, CMiC, and Revit or comparable construction technologies is a plus.

Physical Demands:

Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; occasionally ascends/descends ladders and stairs; constantly works in outdoor weather conditions; frequently moves equipment up to 50Ibs to various locations on site; constantly communicates with subcontractors, vendors, and other members of project team; constantly moving around job site; ability to adhere to consistent and timely attendance.
