Summary:


The Senior Vice President of Operations leads all of the operations within their designated business unit at GDI and is accountable for implementing of a culture of operational excellence, standardization, and continuous improvement of business processes.


Responsible for the revenue and gross margin for the division, development and execution of key processes, systems, safety, and working with the team members within the Operations group. The position is key to the continued growth and the operational, financial, customer satisfaction, and safety success of the business.


Essential Duties:


  • Accountable for operational excellence, results and cost control within their designated business unit.
  • Owns the process execution of all Operational functions including delivery and execution of all contracted services, monthly/quarterly reviews as well as tracking and reporting key metrics.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with our clients key decision-makers, directly and through their leadership team.
  • Actively track financial performance to budget and address any issues to achieve corporate financial objectives without neglecting quality standards, safety, or customer satisfaction.
  • Actively track and manage staffing levels to ensure local teams can execute existing and future work effectively.
  • Implement technological tools to ensure the efficiency of current processes.
  • Develop the operational knowledge and management capabilities of their team and build a succession plan by guiding team members in their career development.
  • Continuously monitor the overall performance of each site and make appropriate changes as needed.
  • Participate in the maintenance and development of new business opportunities in collaboration with the sales department.
  • Execute our strategic plan to standardize all operational processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Member of the business unit Senior Management Team, promoting collaboration with all other department heads and active participant in new strategic initiative.


Qualifications:


The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Bachelor's degree in administration, finance, or another relevant field.


  • 5 plus years of management in a related field required.
  • Demonstrated skills in project management and budget management. (i.e. ability to understand and manage a P&L).
  • Understanding of Owner/Operators, 3rd party Managers, Service Providers.
  • Involvement in industry associations e.g. BOMA.
  • Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of the fundamentals of business issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and build consensus.
  • Strong leadership and people management experience.
  • Analytical skills in problem solving and implementing action plans.
  • Attention to detail and a strong focus on execution of plans.
  • Autonomy and great capacity for initiative.
  • Must be bilingual (English and French).
