Vice President Supply Chain

Overview

Reporting to the President the Vice President Supply Chain will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the supply chain process within the organization. This role involves strategic planning, coordination, and optimization of all activities related to the sources, procurement, production, logistics and distribution of good and services.

This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments while overseeing 4 departments, supply, warehouse, product development and technical services.

The Vice President Supply Chain works to mobilize his team, value the individuals, and ensure their development.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize the supply chain function, aligning it with overall business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction throughout the supply chain process.


Supply Chain Management

  • Oversee the procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods and materials.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality of products.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize excess or obsolete inventory.


Operational Efficiency

  • Streamline processes and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce lead times.
  • Implement best practices and innovative technologies to enhance supply chain operations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.


Team Leadership

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, train, and develop talent within the supply chain organization to ensure a high-performing team.


Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to the supply chain.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards in supply chain operations.


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, finance, and marketing, to align supply chain activities with overall business objectives.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management to provide updates on supply chain performance and strategic initiatives.


Budget and labour planning

  • Prepare annually, estimated salary budget and benefits for all permanent employees.
  • Analyse and plan labour costs and make recommendations to higher management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field; master’s degree would be an asset.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in in a similar role, including management.
  • Proven experience in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) and supply chain management, with a track record of success in optimizing processes and driving operational efficiency.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with supply chain technologies and tools, such as ERP systems, demand planning software, and data analytics platforms.
  • Experience providing reporting analytics and KPIs.
  • Proven experience with importation and contract manufacturing would be an asset.
  • Experience in the US would be an asset.
  • Participated in multi-warehouse expansion would be an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., APICS, CSCP) preferred.
  • Six Sigma Certifications would be an asset.
  • Good knowledge of the tire and wheel industry, as well as seasonal products, would be an asset.
  • Have valid travel documents (passport).


CONDITIONS

  • This position requires occasional travel across Canada, the U.S and Overseas.
