About Edelman’s Crisis & Reputation Risk Practice:

The Global Crisis & Reputation Risk practice is one of the most respected and largest in the world, serving clients on complex crises and with 180 practitioners in more than 60 countries. The capabilities and diversity of talent have also grown to include former management consultants, digital leaders, sector experts, research and analytics. The Crisis & Risk Mitigation team advises leading corporations, governments and institutions and their senior leaders on a broad range of crises including litigation, corporate malfeasance, societal matters, ethics and integrity, security risks (e.g., physical and data), product and service risks (e.g., safety, health) and financial.

About the Opportunity:

Edelman has an exciting opportunity for an experienced crisis management practitioner.  We are seeking a Senior Vice President to lead our Litigation practice, including existing client work and pursue new business, both regionally and nationally; help enhance and scale our crisis practice in the specialty are of litigation; and develop new crisis specialties, offerings and capabilities to capture strategic growth opportunities.  A proven expertise in advising senior client executives in a crisis and complex issues, such as legal, data security and privacy, compliance and financial matters, is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage business to maximize profit
  • Provide high-level counsel to clients; handle sensitive issues; negotiate and solve problems
  • Lead program strategies and ensure they are strategic and maps to client objectives
  • Ensure highest quality standards and practices are brought to all aspects of client work
  • Ensure constant professional development of team, consistently holding self and staff accountable for behavior and performance
  • Communicate a compelling and inspired vision of future possibilities and direction to team; create a climate that encourages entrepreneurial behavior, learning, and ethical conduct
  • Seek and suggest process improvements and support positive change initiatives
  • Secure new business; maintain high industry profile and network; lead key pitches
  • Develop internal and client products/services, leverage IP with clients
  • Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills; set and pursue stretch goals
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct


About You:

  • Have at least 10 years of experience in communications
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or have equivalent work experience
  • Are a leader who keeps up with growth and innovation in the industry
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful public relations strategies and programs including excellent client service and creative counsel
  • Sound judgment and proven problem-solving skills
  • Experience with P&Ls in an agency setting
  • Proven track record in team management, leadership, and team building
  • Ability to travel as needed


$128,000 - $200,000 a year

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
