Education / Experience / License / Certifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on knowledge of electrical debugging tools such as oscilloscopes and voltmeters.
  • Preferred: Experience with Automotive OEMs and infotainment systems.
  • Hardware engineering experience with audio products and Bluetooth technology.


Position Summary:

Seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer, specializing in system-level engineering and electrical problem analysis for automotive infotainment systems. This role involves working with AM/FM, SDARS, Audio, Bluetooth, WiFi, and USB features. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical schematics, system block diagrams, and component datasheets, along with the ability to analyze bench and vehicle level log files and support customer issues.


Responsibilities:

  • Capture and analyze data from LAN, LIN, and MOST bus, as well as internal buses (I2C, etc.).
  • Adjust calibrations on LAN and test new software releases.
  • Perform radar evaluations on developmental units and assist with other automotive engineering products as needed.
  • Lead the installation of surround view systems in local demo vehicles.
  • Conduct tests internally and support customer testing at various sites.
  • Utilize test equipment such as signal generators, audio analyzers, spectrum analyzers, noise generators, capture/playback simulations, oscilloscopes, pulse generators, and active probes.
  • Serve as the main contact for obtaining information requested by the Product Development Team from the customer.
  • Provide necessary information to both the customer and corporate Product Development Team.
  • Conduct vehicle tests including functional, noise, reception, and CD skip tests.
  • Perform bench and field testing (both subjective and objective).
  • Calibrate audio systems in vehicles.
  • Review and negotiate customer specifications and requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve engineering and quality issues.
  • Analyze warranty returns and customer plant fallouts to determine root causes.
  • Create technical reports, 5 phase reports, and 8D's.
  • Prepare necessary documentation and materials for customer engineering meetings.
  • Maintain and develop open issue lists for customer engineering meetings.
  • Attend project-related meetings with customers.
  • Occasionally attend trade shows to stay updated with market trends and report back to the corporate office.
  • Write minutes from customer meetings.
  • Understand customer requirements/requests to provide clear instructions to the corporate Product Development Team.
  • Provide engineering support for Manufacturing, particularly during product launch periods.
  • Test and adjust software calibrations and develop test procedures for new requirements.
  • Evaluate new software patches and assess overall system impacts.
  • Support customer quality system requirements.
  • Perform market research and product planning duties as needed.
