Sales Manager

General Purpose

The Sales Manager identifies, researches, develops, and closes sales of new Data & Organizational Membership products to new major strategic customers. This is a salary plus commission base role.

Essential Functions

  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with new key senior-level decision makers of healthcare organizations. Fields online requests for quotes, sells appropriate products/membership for their organization and processes transactions. Overcomes objections, positions value of the product and closes sales opportunities.
  • Processes segmented inbound leads, creating demand for and upsells new leads to DataDive All and Organizational Membership products.
  • Researches, creates and manages a robust targeted outbound sales strategy.
  • Utilizes CRM to keep accurate sales records.
  • Works to meet or succeed monthly and quarterly sales targets
  • Works closely with supervisor to capture feedback of member’s needs and turn them into sales opportunities.
  • Works with support staff to coordinate and/or delegate logistic and administrative functions related to providing Organizational Members & DataDive customers with other MGMA benefits.
  • Facilitates on-site conference support for DataDive and Organizational Member’s needs.
  • Other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization.

  • Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of MGMA’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Ability to be self motivated and proactively reach out to existing members in the timeline required and generate prospect development and solicitation.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of MGMA and member industry and day to day member challenges.
  • Ability to effectively position the value of MGMA products and services.
  • Ability to identify member's spoken and unspoken needs and educates/recommends members on member benefits, services, and products available.
  • Ability to stay positive during and following challenging customer interactions.
  • Ability to learn proficiently operate client relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and establish effective working relationships.
  • Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to coach, and provide guidance to other Department employees.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, and using the customer relationship management (CRM) Microsoft Dynamics program.

Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field is required.

Experience

  • Three (3) more years of client management, customer service and executing a sales plan preferable in a membership required.
  • Experience in a membership setting with a track record of selling or upselling higher levels of products and services, driving client membership, and developing relationships to a challenging customer base is required.
  • Previous work in healthcare advertising, sales, publication management, marketing, and/or sponsorship development is preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have the ability to be a self starter.

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.
  • Will travel to member work sites on a regular basis.
  • May need to attend conferences in various locations around the United States

  • This is a largely sedentary role, so employee must be able to remain in a sedentary position while focusing for extended periods of time throughout the workday. Position also requires occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets, printers, etc. While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to successfully navigate scenarios requiring the following operational abilities:
  • Ability to operate PC/keyboard and other office productivity equipment
  • Ability to position self to traverse/navigate around typical office setting
  • Ability pull/push, lift, open/close, grasp/manipulate, transport up to 10 lbs.
