Live Events is a multi-state event production company, based in New Castle, PA. This role will be on-site and includes traveling to sites across the US to provide on-site HR support and leadership. We're looking for an HR Business Partner who can understand the unique demands of the events business and is eager to jump in with both feet to help us strengthen our processes while keeping our amazing team happy. This isn't your typical HR gig!

This role serves as a strategic partner to the organization, leveraging HR subject matter expertise and business acumen to drive organizational success through a people-centric approach. A partner to managers to build a high-performing and engaged workforce and ensure alignment with the organization's goals and values.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead all employee relations initiatives for our fireworks (FW) and special effects (FX) divisions ensuring balanced advocacy for the needs of the organization and employees while ensuring adherence to all policies
  • Partner with management to improve employee engagement and productivity through training and development, performance management, and positive employee relations
  • Provide hands-on support to employees and managers to better understand people and human resources processes, policies, and standard operating procedures to maximize organizational effectiveness and ensure compliance
  • Collaborate with management to understand the business strategies, goals, objectives, and financial performance of the organization; build ongoing relationships with organization leaders and managers
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and nurture high-potential employees for key roles
  • Establish key HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives
  • Stay abreast of HR compliance and policy updates, educate business leaders, and assist with implementing HR practices that allow the organization to be current and compliant
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with business unit leaders and departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Manage the full employee life cycle
  • Support and assist the EH&S Manager with workers compensation and general liability claims and investigations
  • Manage content, compliance and completion of assigned training through a Learning Management System

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in progressive HR roles, with past experience functioning as a business partner highly preferred
  • Strong foundational knowledge of HR regulations and compliance topics across multiple states
  • Prior experience providing strategic HR guidance to senior leadership of an organization
  • Experience in leading employee relations and performance management
  • Experience working in a multi-location/multi-state organization highly preferred
  • Able to effectively handle multiple and shifting priorities and maintain professional composure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to develop and maintain relationships with coworkers and business leaders by building trust and honoring commitments
  • ADP, Google Workspace, Netsuite, HubSpot, and Monday.com are preferred
