Regional IT Customer Manager-APAC CL

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

An IT Customer Manager is responsible for all aspects of a customers’ IT interaction with JAS. This would include the responsibility of solution design, implementation, and support of the JAS IT solutions used to support a customer’s business. These phases would be managed by the IT Customer Manager, who would either work on the solutions themselves, or manage a solution engineered, implemented and supported by the JAS Supply IT teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics project work, including integration, WMS systems and project management.

Importantly, they need a proven track record of working with internal as well as external teams, to collaborate on successfully delivered and maintained solutions. They should also possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in this team environment.

  • Work with the APAC MDs and APAC Head of IT to devise projects which are aligned to the requirements of the regional and global businesses.
  • Work closely with the global development teams to build new solutions / functions, delivering maximum value to the JAS business and customers.
  • Build workflows and processes, to facilitate successful delivery of customer solutions, encourage collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead technical sales activities, presentations and software deployment projects, providing appropriate demonstrations, documentation, commercial modelling, scheduling and management.
  • Work with operations and regional infrastructure to find solutions to IT and process issues, helping to frame technical issues and being responsible for IT process issues.
  • Performing necessary steps for testing new business application software releases at a functional level.
  • Provide individual and group instruction, as needed, on the use of solutions, software, and core JAS Worldwide applications.
  • Manage and lead regional and global customer projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Lead the implementation of appropriate customer, management, and operational IT support tools.
  • Manage third party vendors for local IT related customer services.
  • Provide information to IT Infrastructure to enable them to support systems and infrastructure.
  • Out-of-hours might occasionally be required as part of this position.
  • International travel will be required as part of this position.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate by the JAS Worldwide Head of IT.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A strong team ethic, with the ability to build relationships both inside and outside the organization. To manage effectively upwards, downwards and at a peer level
  • Strong Organizational skills – effectively handling multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing, and executing assigned deliverables.
  • Act as the main customer contact for all IT service provided by JAS CL to customers. Manage the IT relationships with these customers.
  • Project Management experience including the coordination of third party suppliers and partners.
  • Good knowledge of the logistics industry.
  • Proactive ability to identify problems and escalate problems.
  • Good ability to liaise with second-line, vendors, or third-party support groups.
  • Ability to assist and support IT resources remotely.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College-level degree in IT, logistics or business discipline; or significant relevant experience.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in the IT or business field.
  • Experience in supporting remote offices.
  • An integration, project management or logistics qualification.

ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel may be required (up to 25%) in support of the position’s responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing this job's duties, the employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 kilograms.
