Reporter
This position will be Hybrid in the office/market 3 days per week, and those days can be flexible in consultation with your manager.
he Dallas Business Journal is looking for a reporter to cover business news in one of the hottest markets in the country.
Reporting to our Managing Editor, you’ll break news daily as part of our dedicated real estate team that covers Dallas-Fort Worth economic development. You also will have time to commit to long-form and investigative journalism. Our readers want the story behind someone’s success, what they’ve learned and what lies ahead.
You must be a vigilant networker and relationship manager to deliver source-driven scoops. Our best stories come from people, not press releases. You will break news that sources don't always want to be brought to light. As such, you must be able to determine whether a news item merits a brief, a story, an in-depth investigation — or no coverage at all.
In return, you'll receive a competitive salary, a substantial benefits package, and the opportunity to advance your career. We employ a hybrid setup that includes two work-from-home days. And, unlike other publications in Dallas-Fort Worth, the Business Journal doesn’t charge our journalists to park in the garage at our new office in Uptown.
When applying, include your resume and a mix of clips demonstrating your knack for breaking news and unearthing deeper trends.
