Position Summary

The Director of Community Engagement will be a Company ambassador to the community, bringing proven strategic planning, project management and outreach skills to this role. This person is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with Irvine Company stakeholders including local organizations, nonprofits, homeowners associations, businesses and individual residents to share Company planning and updates and understand community priorities. The candidate will also implement a community engagement program that will include regular presentations, tours of Company properties and response to community inquiries. The position is part of a best-in-class corporate communications team focused on engaging audiences and enhancing the Company’s reputation through initiatives that demonstrate its leadership and vision.

Job Duties

  • Design, implement and manage community outreach programs
  • Represent the Company in community settings
  • Deliver engaging and informative presentations
  • Develop and lead property tour programs
  • Be responsive to community inquiries, keeping detailed records of topics, responses, themes and emerging areas of interest

Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, planning or communications
  • 7-10 years of experience in writing for media or corporate communications
  • Refined presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent follow-through and detailed record-keeping
  • Proven track record of consensus-building and conflict resolution
  • Strong project management skills

Compensation

Base Pay Range: $143,400.00 - $186,600.00

Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
