Our goal is to increase productivity to keep manufacturing in America successful and prosperous. www.appliedc.com The Solutions Sales Engineer is responsible for growing sales volume with existing and new accounts for Applied Controls Solutions Group’s. The Solutions Group Sales Engineer will be responsible for moving the sales process through from initial design, proposal, and closing. Located in the Mid Atlantic US, the Solutions Sales Engineer will be accountable for executing assigned sales goals and sales plans within a designated sales territory and working with Applied Controls Account Managers to drive the pre-sales stages of new project to the point of order. This is a hybrid position working from your home office in PA, MD, DE or NJ, and Exton, PA office. Experience, Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering (electrical or mechanical preferred) or related subject
- 3-5 years of experience in outside sales and/or strong manufacturing automation background
- Must have proven track record of exceeding sales quota
- Experience working with distribution
- Previous experience in industrial automation, solution/project sales involving technical products
- Strong sense of understanding of the value proposition to end-users
- Business acumen that can be applied at different levels of decision makers from senior management to technical support
- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
- Self-motivated and customer driven
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Responsible for sales goals/quotas for Solutions Group’s typically in the mid-Atlantic territory
- Hunt for new sales opportunities and qualify/validate those opportunities
- Drive KPIs and action plans to achieve the annual target. Develop countermeasures to get back to budget if behind
- Manage opportunity/project funnel, forecasting and action plans
- Drive new and existing Solutions projects through the pre-sale stages
- Participate in the preliminary system design, scope, and objective discussions with customers.
- Canvas, initiate, qualify sales leads
- Participate in joint visits with Account Managers
- Be able to understand the functionality and discuss complex applications utilizing the UR collaborative robot.
- Represent company at tradeshows and other professional activities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and competitors and their activity in the marketplace
