Our KerberRose Human Resources team is actively reciting for a Controller at our client company in the Wausau, WI market! This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The Controller will play a crucial leadership role, contributing to various aspects of the organization and providing robust financial guidance.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial results
Developing and maintaining financial controls and guidelines
Mentoring and developing the Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll teams
Providing detailed financial updates to the management team through data evaluation and analysis
Setting budgeting goals with proper scheduling and analysis
Preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidating financial statements in line with GAAP
Monitoring and implementing internal controls to protect company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
Ensuring consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures, compliant with local, state, and federal reporting requirements
Establishing financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards in collaboration with the CFO
Analyzing variances and communicating findings and recommendations to management
Collaborating across functions to support various business initiatives
Leading continuous process improvement initiatives, identifying areas of risk, and overseeing the design and implementation of solutions
Requirements
At least 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a senior-level accounting or finance role
Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
Knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
Professional Certification (such as CPA) is preferred
Experience with Oracle NetSuite is preferred
