Job Title: Vice President of Production - Custom Equipment Manufacturer

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Production to lead our manufacturing operations for custom equipment. As the VP of Production, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, from planning and scheduling to quality assurance and logistics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing management, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to drive operational excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize production processes and meet company objectives.
• Lead and manage a team of production managers, supervisors, engineers, and support staff across multiple facilities.
• Establish and monitor production KPIs to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery of custom equipment.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and supply chain departments to develop manufacturing strategies that align with customer requirements and market demands.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Drive innovation in manufacturing processes, technologies, and systems to maintain competitiveness and meet industry standards.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of ERP/MRP systems to manage production schedules, inventory, and resource allocation.
• Monitor industry trends and technological advancements to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental policies, and quality standards in all production activities.
• Prepare and present production reports, financial analysis, and strategic plans to senior management and stakeholders.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven experience (X+ years) in a senior leadership role within a custom equipment manufacturing environment.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, including fabrication, machining, assembly, and testing of custom equipment.
• Strong business acumen with a track record of driving operational excellence and achieving financial targets.
• Experience in implementing and managing ERP/MRP systems; proficiency in CAD/CAM software is a plus.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to make decisions based on data-driven analysis and industry insights.
• Ability to travel occasionally as needed to visit production facilities and attend industry events.
