Job Description

Reporting to the CFO, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations will be responsible for the development and implementation of Mural Oncology’s investor relations and corporate affairs strategies, plans and tactics to ensure valuation appropriately reflects potential of the business and to help raise the profile of Mural Oncology as a leading scientific organization in immuno-oncology.

The individual will be responsible for creating the company’s IR strategy, framework, tactics, and communication materials to effectively articulate and support the company’s business and scientific objectives. Will be responsible for building new and managing existing relationship with the equity research and investor community. The Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs will oversee the corporate communications functions. They will also be responsible for all corporate internal and external communications. Primary responsibilities include driving awareness and understanding of Mural Oncology’s R&D expertise, strategy and pipeline assets; and communicating internally and externally about the company’s assets, people, science and progress.

This individual will serve as a primary external spokesperson for Mural Oncology. This position requires close collaboration with Clinical Development, Discovery, Research, Medical Affairs, Finance and Legal.

Responsibilities Will Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Serve as the primary liaison and Mural Oncology voice for investors, analysts and other members of the financial community
  • Develop a strategic and effective narrative and communications strategy for quarterly and annual results, including the development of financial results press releases, conference call scripts, slide presentations, key messages, Q&A, briefing materials and related content for use with key stakeholder audiences including financial community, media, and patient advocacy organizations
  • Establish and execute a strategic targeting program to attract new shareholders and sell-side analysts, while maintaining relationships with existing key investors and analysts. Oversee the development and execution of strategic and measurable communications programs that align with business strategies and goals and complement other endeavors pursued by the company
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with influential media that reach key stakeholders including patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, potential collaborators and investors
  • Identify opportunities to generate financial media coverage and conduct proactive outreach to journalists, arrange interviews, prepare executive spokespersons, act as a company spokesperson
  • Act as a strategic communications advisor to the Clinical Development team and the R&D leadership team, which includes developing and collaborating on publications and other scientific communications
  • Work with legal counsel to ensure compliance on regulatory matters. Serve as point person within the IR group for all Proxy related activities, including voter engagement, preparation of Proxy Statement. Contribute to the preparation of the company’s SEC filings including, 10-Q, 10-K, Proxy Statement and ESG reports.
  • Manage the corporate website
  • Lead, manage and develop the Corporate Affairs and Investor Relations team, including Communications team members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, communications-related discipline and advanced degree preferred
  • At least 12-15 years of relevant experience with healthcare investor relations and public relations, with at least 5 years in a corporate (pharma or biotech) setting
  • In-depth knowledge of the oncology therapeutic area, preferably with 5 or more years of oncology-related communication experience
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze problems and data based on unclear factors
  • Consults with other leaders to generate consensus on decisions and business strategies
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to take projects from concept to implementation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to build and maintain close, collaborative relationships with all levels of the organization to ensure alignment and integration of strategies, tactics and content
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
